Dr. Lynette Cederquist

Dr. Lynette Cederquist attended college at Oral Roberts University, and medical school at Oral Roberts University School of Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she graduated with honors in 1986. She then completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the UCSF affiliate program in Fresno, California, in 1989.
Dr. Cederquist then moved to San Diego in 1992 and has been on faculty at UCSD as a Clinical Professor of Medicine since 1994. In addition to her clinical practice, she also supervises and teaches medical students and residents.
Dr. Cederquist has focused her interest on the practice of palliative medicine, working with cancer patients and chronic pain patients. She worked as a Scholar in Residence for a year at San Diego Hospice, and became certified in palliative medicine in November, 2004. She is also Associate Medical Director for Silverado Hospice. Additionally, she is Chair of UCSD's Ethics Committee, and Director of the Hospital Ethics Consult service.
Dr. Cederquist believes that a central goal of medicine it relieve suffering, and optimize the patient’s quality of life, especially when they are faced with life threatening or incurable illness. The opportunity to work side by side with the oncologists at San Diego Cancer Center to offer maximum support to cancer patients has been the most rewarding aspect of her career in medicine.
Dr. Cederquist is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, and certified in Palliative Medicine.

Her husband Gary, is in charge of teaching the children how to work the computer, and do home improvements, while Dr. Cederquist is in charge of doing crafts, and taking them shopping.
